MASTERY OF SPORTS: Sports is a major element in the You Can Foundation. As one of the pillars of our organization, sports bring everyone together to achieve a goal or a dream. Through teamwork and team bonding, sports allow children to enhance their social skills, leadership skills, communication skills, and mental skills within their development.
MASTERY OF EDUCATION: Education is a stepping stone for building resilience – to arm students from the earliest age with socio-emotional and critical skills to reject every form and expression of discrimination – to understand the power of language in triggering destructive attitudes and actions, and instead, to develop qualities of empathy, openness and solidarity.
MASTERY OF COMMUNITY: Coretta Scott King said, “The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.” We believe by involving the community, we can reach a lot of children and pour into them help them realize that You Can. Along with community service, giving, multiple events, etc., we believe our voice will echo to the hearts of them and they will prosper.
MASTERY OF MENTAL HEALTH:
According to CDC.gov, “ADHD, behavior problems, anxiety, and depression are the most commonly diagnosed mental disorders in children
- 9.4% of children aged 2-17 years (approximately 6.1 million) have received an ADHD diagnosis.
- 7.4% of children aged 3-17 years (approximately 4.5 million) have a diagnosed behavior problem.
- 7.1% of children aged 3-17 years (approximately 4.4 million) have diagnosed anxiety.
- 3.2% of children aged 3-17 years (approximately 1.9 million) have diagnosed depression.
Mental health is one of the most prevalent and overlooked diseases around today. Children are often most at risk for developing diseases and disorders associated with mental health. As a foundation, we believe in preparing the younger generation for the leadership to help these children develop skills through their ways of thinking, decision-making, leadership, and many other characteristics to live a productive lifestyle.

MASTER OF EVENTS/FORUMS: Public events and forums are some of the most important informational tools anyone can access. You Can believes with these tools, they can learn and see examples of people who have came through life, fought, and still achieving their ongoing goals and dreams. In addition, full access, bringing in guest for events and forums will resonate in the minds of children to show them what success is and how it is attainable.
